~^A Figure-drawing in Charcoal ^ ~ I created this drawing when I was 16 years old. It was part of our "timed" assignments in Art Collage. We had between 1 - 2 -3 & 5 minutes to draw from a live model person who was posing for the class. This was a 1 minute drawing. (I had received a scholarship to attend an art class for a semester at an Art College while I was still in high school)

~^Landscapes/Wildlife- Kitchen Cabinet Doors in a Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall Motif - Acrylics ^ ~ This was a project I actually started in 2003 out of boredom and not enjoying looking at my white Kitchen cabinet doors. I had painted two of the doors when we decided to sell our home. Originally I was going to take the cabinet doors I'd painted with me and replace them with new white kitchen doors for the buyers. However...one of the reasons why the buyers wanted to buy our house was because of the painted cabinet doors and the buyers asked me to finish them. So I was basically commissioned to finish the cabinet doors for the new buyers. Up until then I'd never thought I could sell my artwork because it was so personal to me. It was really quite hard parting with and actually selling these Kitchen Cabinet paintings....but I did. These were the first pieces of artwork that I'd sold. Up until these pieces I'd always just created for myself or friends and had never sold any paintings. This was also the first time I realized I should keep pictures of my artwork so I could still enjoy it even though I didn't still have it. The "Summer" and "Fall" doors I actually took pictures throughout the process of painting them. (please click on the thumbnail for a larger view and use your back button to get back to this page)
